IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL HAMBURG RESIDENTS REGARDING POTENTIAL
FREEZING OF WATER SERVICE LINES
Due to the continuing and extended period of cold weather this winter and with
three residents already having had their water service lines freeze up, the
CITY OF HAMBURG IS NOW
STRONGLY ADVISINGALL RESIDENTS TO ALLOW THEIR WATER TO RUN 24/7 AT A ‘PENCIL SIZE’ STREAM FROM AN INSIDE FAUCET CLOSEST TO
YOUR WATER METER UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
to avoid a potential freeze up of your water service line.
Residents letting their water run to avoid their water service line from freezing up will NOT have to pay for this additional consumption of water. Rather, the water bills for March and April 2014 (and May, if necessary) will be based on the amount of water consumption during those months in 2013. According to the Minnesota Rural Water Association, the risk of frozen water service lines could continue for several weeks and/or months.
IMPORTANT: When you begin running your water 24/7 to help prevent your water service line from freezing up, please call the Hamburg City Office AS SOON AS POSSIBLE At (952) 467-3232.
Also please call the City Office If You Have Any Questions Or Concerns.
Help Avoid Our Water Service Lines From Freezing Up. Please TELL YOUR HAMBURG FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS What They Can Do To Help Prevent Their Water Service Lines From Freezing........THANKS !!

Temperatures In The 30's NEXT MONDAY & TUESDAY !!
For those of you wondering about what the 'status' of the installation of the new standby generator at the city's lift station is, it's been too cold (Really?) to install it.
But now, with warmer weather (hopefully) on the way, installation is now scheduled for NEXT Monday and Tuesday; March 10th & 11th.
