HIRED TO FILL
VACANT POSITION
Despite the fact that one of the applicants for the position of PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE (which has been vacant since September 2022), had TWENTY-THREE YEARS OF PUBLIC WORKS EXPERIENCE, the HAMBURG CITY COUNCIL, upon the 'recommendation' of Hamburg's infamous 'PERSONNEL COMMITTEE' (consisting of the HAMBURG MAYOR, HAMBURG CITY CLERK/TREASURER and HAMBURG'S NEWEST CITY COUNCIL MEMBER) voted to hire the SON OF FORMER HAMBURG MAYOR MIKE BUCKENTIN; and someone who, reportedly; has NO PUBLIC WORKS EXPERIENCE !!
It is interestijng to note that the new PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE, JASON BUCKENTIN, was appointed to the Hamburg City County in December 2021 to fill the remaining term of Councilmember Scott Feltmannm, who passed away while in Office. (It is FURTHER INTRIGUING to note that the HAMBURG CITY COUNCIL 'bypassed' former City Council (and former Mayor) Richard Malz application to be appointed to fulfill Feltmann's term; and appointed someone with NO PUBLIC SERVICE EXPERIENCE !!
And, it's VERY APPARENT to me (and should be to readers of this Website), that the CITY OF HAMBURG intentionally WAITED until COUNCILMEMBER Buckentin's City Council Term expired on December 31, 2022, so that he could be hired and become PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE Buckentin !! (Here's the definition of 'Shoo-In': One that has a sure chance of being chosen, as for a job or other position. Informal. A sure winner that is a
certain and easy winner !!)
WHERE IS THE FAIRNESS ?? WHERE IS THE HONESTY ?? WHERE IS THE 'TRANSPARENCY' ?? WHERE IS THE 'contract' CITY ATTORNEY ?? WHERE IS THE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION ??
Because of what I had 'heard' took place, I personally spoke with the applicant who had something like 23 YEARS of PUBLIC WORKS EXPERIENCE and he was from 'out of state'. I got the DISCTINCT IMPRESSION from talking with him that he realy didn't believe that he had any chance at all of being hired; the 'interview' was just a 'ruse' to 'cover up' what was taking place in the City of Hamburg who had ALREADY DECIDED (it's NOT 'rocket science', folks) who would be hired) !! Nonetheless, he engaged in the 'interview process'. He was told at the conclusion of his 'interview' that he would be contacted by the City regarding his application.
THAT NEVER HAPPENED !!
A few weeks after the interviews, this applicant called the Hamburg City Hall and, presuneably, spoke with HAMBURG CITY CLERK/TREASURER JEREMY GRUENHAGEN. This applicant related to me that the
City advised him that a decision had not yet been made. After not hearing anything back from the City,
the applicant made a subsequent telephone call to the City of Hamburg and during his
SECOND telephone call to the City, he was told that 'the position has been filled'.
In my book, that contains OVER 150 PAGES Of DOCUMENTS that I'm PUBLICLY RELEASING (many of which have NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE) and see below, the CRUDE, CRUDE, VULGAR, & DEMEANING TEXT MESSAGES sent between HAMBURG
CITY OFFICIALS, INCLUDING CITY COUNCILMEMBER JASON
BUCKENTIN, (who was CLEARLY EXPRESSING his desire to,
FELLOW CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS; to be hired for the
PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE POSITION)
and was ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING in the
"TARGETING" of a CURRENT CITY
EMPLOYEE THEY WERE TRYING
TO FORCE TO QUIT, SO THE
SON OF FORMER HAMBURG MAYOR, MIKE BUCKENTIN,
COULD BE HIRED BY THE CITY !!
AND HE WAS !!!
