Thank you, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, for the GREAT JOB that you, and your very knowledgeable Commissioners and their Staff, are doing during the course of this unprecedented civil emergency !!
Without question, your 'top shelf' leadership, combined with the unselfish dedication of you and your Team, are saving, and will continue to save, countless lives in our state.
To those persons who are demanding the 're-opening' of Minnesota, I'd like to remind them that this whole 'pandemic thing' ISN'T about ME !! ME !! ME !!
More realistically, it's about US !! US !! US !! continuing to support the leadership of our elected officials, their staff and persons much more knowledgeable about this virus 'monster' than the general public is, listen to what they tell us and follow their expert guidance.
While much is now known about the Covid-19 Virus, I think it's a safe assumption to say that there is MUCH, MUCH MORE that we DON'T know about and no one should expect 'life' to 'return to normal' anytime soon for that very reason. The risk of any (even) temporary 're-opening' of businesses, regardless of what service(s) they offer or provide, must be carefully weighed against the potential, perceived or actual risks associated with ANY re-opening of ANY business.
Making more people get sick and, yes; even die, just because people are inconvenienced, isn't the 'goal' that we want to achieve here. We want to prevent people from getting sick, take care of them if they do, increase recovery of those unfortunate enough to have contracted this nasty, nasty 'silent enemy' and prevent as many cases/deaths as possible.
There's also something else that apparently these 'protesters' who want businesses to reopen, have forgotten: What about all of the Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, Police Officers, Firefighters and all of the other First Responders who RISK their lives, SEVERAL times a day, trying to give the best care that they know how, to provide hope to those afflicted and affected, for a successful 'outcome'.
I ask those persons protesting for Governor Walz to 're-open Minnesota', would YOU like to 'trade places' with those dedicated Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, Police Officers, Firefighters and all of the other First Responders who are dealing with the very sick, injured and dying, every minute of every hour of every day, trying to 'make them better' so they, like you, can go home to their family, loved ones and friends every night, just like YOU do ?
If Governor Walz, based on the information provided to him by local, state, federal (and yes; even world) medical experts, deems it necessary to extend Minnesota's current 'Stay At Home' Order beyond it's May 4th expiration date, THAT'S FINE BY ME; it will GREATLY BENEFIT MINNESOTA by PREVENTING and LIMITING THE SPREAD of this ugly scourge, POSSIBLY DECREASE THE SEVERITY OF THOSE AFFLICTED and AFFECTED and SAVE LIVES !!
I think it's called "COMMON SENSE 101".
