The City Council meets the second Tuesday (and at times the fourth Tuesday, only of a second monthly meeting is deemed necessary by the City Council) of each calendar month beginning at 7:00p.m. Any regular meeting date falling on a holiday shall be rescheduled and held at the time and place set by the City Council at a regularly scheduled meting. All meetings are open to the public and all residents are encouraged to attend. If you wish to be on the agenda, contact City Hall by 4:30 PM on the Thursday prior to the meeting.

Unless you've read my first book written back in about 2006, the current book that I'm writing describing what's been talking place in the CITY OF HAMBURG for literally YEARS, will be a book like you never seen or read before !!
Like my first book, "BURNING CORN TO HEAT OUR HOME" that incorporated a Website that I designed and maintained about the installation of one of the FIRT corn burning stoves in the southwest metro area, this second book will incorporate my Website and associated Webpages about the CITY OF HAMBURG where I have 'chronicled', for the past ten year or twelve years, some of the 'bizarre happenings' in the CITY OF HAMBURG that I have witnessed. One particular 'unique' feature of my upcoming book, like my 'corn stove' book, is that readers will be given 'links' to various 'supporting documents' contained on my long-standing, informative and very popular Website(s) and their associated Webpages. This 'feature' will give much more meaning to an already very important topic of PUBLIC OFFICIALS that are UNACCOUNTABLE for their actions.
As a very basic example, I VIVIDLY recall a Hamburg City Council meeting where a distinguished (outside) Public Official was addressing the City Council, as a guest, about a particular matter. One of the City Councilmembers came to the meeting wearing shorts and a pair of 'Flip Flops' (no socks); hardly proper attire for a City Official to show up wearing at an 'official' City Council meeting. To make the situation even WORSE, imagine my shock, amazement and embarrassment when the City Councilmember TOOK OFF HIS 'Flip-Flops' during our guest's presentation and was sitting there, IN HIS BARE FEET, NOT WEARING SHOES OR SOCKS, in PLAIN VIEW of me, other Councilmembers AND the GUEST THAT WAS ADDRESSING the City Council !!! IT MAKES NO SENSE !!
'Hooterville', maybe; but HAMBURG ??WHOLLY INAPPROPRIATE and TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE !!
By going to the link listed in my book, you'll be able to 'CLICK' on a link and go DIRECTLY to an e-mail on my associated Webpage showing where I took exception to this 'lack of judgement' of the City Councilmember and, via an e-mail message, I alerted the City Clerk/Treasurer of what took place and requested that he send out some sort of 'reminder notification' to City Councilmembers advising them that 'proper attire' should always be worn at City Council meetings and other City functions. (Of course, you can probably imagine what the City Clerk/Treasurer did; NOTHING !!)
Similar 'exhibits, documents and evidence' appear on the Websites associated with my book which will give readers much more information than just reading 'words on a page of a book'. This unique 'concept' had some distinct advantages and added a whole new 'dimension' to the sharing of my 'experience' of being one of the FIRST homes in the southwest metro area with using corn as a heating source. I got e-mails and comments from 'followers' of my Website; primarily in the United States and Canada, but also from other parts of the world. Indeed; my second book, as of yet untitled; will be a book like you've never seen or read before !!
Probably; the title of my book should be "THE HAMBURG SEVEN" because of the seven PUBLIC OFFICIALS of the CITY OF HAMBURG (Mayor, four City Councilmembers, City Clerk/Treasurer & 'contract' City Attorney) that are responsible for the turmoil that exists in the small CITY OF HAMBURG (Minnesota 55339). In my book, I'll fully reveal their DESPICABLE ACTS & MISDEEDS !!
As a result of their "WE'RE INVINCIBLE & ABOVE THE LAW" attitude (typical of MANY 'politicians'), "THE HAMBURG SEVEN"KNOWINGLY and INTENTIONALLY committed WANTON, NUMEROUS, and OBVIOUS, VIOLATIONS of the MINNESOTA LAW that dictates that they 'must behave themselves' and 'act responsibly'; (SeeMinnesota Statute 609.43 - MISCONDUCT OF PUBLIC OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE) !!
To demonstrate their arrogance and 'insidious stupidity'; "THE HAMBURG SEVEN" didn't even 'give it a second thought' that their actions were not only being witnessed, and 'documented' by a retired longtime Law Enforcement Officer with a stellar and impeccable background and career, but also simply assumed that, because what's been taking place (and they've 'been doing it') in Hamburg for so long, I'd just 'roll over' and end up being another 'casualty' like those before me.
To further their efforts to 'get rid of me' (because I was 'asking too many questions') and 'figuring', and hoping, that I would RESIGN my position as a HAMBURG CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, as a result, "THE HAMBURG SEVEN"KNOWINGLY even went SO FAR as to 'trump up' (not Donald) and FILE a (fabricated) FORMAL CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST ME with the Carver County Sheriff's Sherif'f's Office !! (See Minnesota Statute 609.505 Subdivisdion 1 - FILING A FALSE POLICE REPORT).
Details of that sinister and 'retaliatory act' by "THE HAMBURG SEVEN" will ALL be detailed in my book as will the VERY REVEALING45 PAGE WRITTEN 'TRANSCRIPT' of my 90 MINUTE 'interrogation' with the McLeod County Sheriff's Office Detective that interviewed me about the 'bogus allegations made against me by the CITY OF HAMBURG !!
The 'findings of the investigation' were forwarded to the Scott County Attorney's Office to be reviewed for possible 'criminal prosecution'. (SPOILER ALERT:NO BASIS for allegations; NO BASIS for 'criminal charging' !!)
NO SURPRISE there, either; but you'll also learn WHY I had NO FURTHER RESPECT for the Carver County Sheriff at the time, Jim Olson (the ONLY Law Enforcement Officer that I've EVER not respected) after spending about ANOTHER 90 MINUTES with him at a later date (once the CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION concluded), detailing what was taking place with "THE HAMBURG SEVEN".
Sheriff Jim Olson TOTALLY disregarded EVERYTHING that I carefully explained to him, IN DETAIL, of what was taking place with "THE HAMBURG SEVEN". His total 'disinterest' subsequently perpetuated and facilitated "THE HAMBURG SEVEN" to become the even more arrogant group of self-serving, TAXPAYER DOLLAR WASTING PUBLIC OFFICIALS that are 'ABOVE THE LAW', that they are today !!
Because of their arrogance, 'superior attitude', heinous acts and misdeeds, "THE HAMBURG SEVEN" unwittingly also involved OTHER county, state and federal PUBLIC OFFICIALS and their Agencies whose names, positions and Agencies you will INSTANTLY recognize.
You'll will be keenly interested in what those other PUBLIC OFFICIALS and their Agencies, have in common with "THE HAMBURG SEVEN" and what their response(s) was/were.
Like the plethora of 'supporting documents' that you'll read MORE about in my book and be able to view via my associated Website(s), there is NO SHORTAGE (and NO END) to the amount of disgusting and objectionable 'material' available to write about that I've witnessed taking place since shortly moving to Hamburg in March of 2006.

Finally, after amassing thousands of pages of those 'supporting documents' over the past four+ years (and before), I'm getting around to writing a book about (just) some of the almost 'unfathomable crap' and 'seedy' things that I've witnessed take place in our City and the actions and tactics about some of the "THE HAMBURG SEVEN"; a handful of PUBLIC OFFICIALS in (what I refer to) as "The Last Civilized Community"in southwestern Carver County; which (reportedly) just happens to be MINNESOTA'S WEALTHIEST COUNTY and is also home to "THE HAMBURG SEVEN".
As you may have already guessed, I've been contemplating writing about what I know and what I've observed taking place in the CITY OF HAMBURG for quite some time.
But, when I sought to be elected Hamburg Mayor last fall and realized the 'ELECTION MEDDLING' that took place by a handful of residents and members of "THE HAMBURG SEVEN"

Born In 1943, Richard Odoms Is Now A Retired Law Enforcement Officer Whose Career Began in 1966.
In addition to attaining the rank of Sergeant with the MAPLE PLAIN (Minnesota) POLICE DEPARTMENT (now WEST HENNEPIN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY), he joined the HENNEPIN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE (Minnesota's Largest Sheriff's Office) in October 1969 as a Senior Deputy Sheriff and attained the rank of Sergeant in both the COMMUNICATIONS and WARRANT/FUGITIVE DIVISIONS.
While continuously maintaining a valid MINNESOTA POLICE OFFICER STANDARDS & TRAINING (P.O.S.T.) Board License until it's expiration in 1997, he retired from the Sheriff's Office in September 1984. He also was an EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT) and served in the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST (1963-1969).
In November 2012, he was elected to a four year term on the HAMBURG (Minnesota) CITY COUNCIL, currently hosts three Websites as well as a regularly scheduled hour long, five times a week Internet Show and a series of Internet Programs that primarily feature current & retired Law Enforcement and other Public Safety Officials.
